EDITORIAL + COLOR CORRECTION SUITE CONSOLE
When I was asked to design the room for a modern color correcion and editoral suite, for film and television, I chose to blend modern clean lines with the 100 year old architecture.
At the center of the room, I designed a console that appeared to float above the operator's legs and contain the many cables that needed to be hidden from view.
The solution was placing holes in the work surface and in the bottom of the hollow legs for invisible cable routing. The pair of legs were anchored to the floor with 4" bolts that allowed the table to cantilever forward with no movement.
The frame is constructed from square steel tubing with top surfaces built from solid black Richlite. Reclaimed Doug Fir bleacher seats were integrated into the leading edge and the spine for a touch of color and added history.
Finished with food grade oil+wax, polished with beeswax.
